Students Work

I started teaching a new evening class last November and a number of my students learnt to weave with riged heddle looms.  This afternoon I had an email from one of them with an image if three lovely cushion covers she has woven.  She said, "I used my own textured hand spun, my Mum's left over scraps of plied home spun and some strands of colinette yarns. So 'dry clean only' . . . "

I'm sure you will agree how lovely they all are.

Students Work!

I'm always delighted to showcase work produced by my students that has been inspired by a workshop they attended.  At the beginning of November I ran a course for Skylark Holidays aimed at rigid heddle loom weavers, entitled Make the Most of Your Rigid Heddle Loom which was attended by Jane Cowans, who's husband is a furniture maker.

On the left and below are a couple of images of the beautiful fabric Jane wove the cover one of the chairs her husband makes.  She is so delighted he has several more chairs for her to cover.

On the right is the detail of the fabric Jane wove.
